Ticket sold in Rice County nets biggest Minn. jackpot
by The Associated Press
ROSEVILLE -- A winning Powerball ticket worth over 180 million dollars was sold somewhere in Rice County in southern Minnesota.
The Minnesota State Lottery says that's the largest Powerball jackpot ever won in the state. The lottery won't disclose exactly where the ticket was sold until the winner comes forward.
The winning ticket holder has the option of taking the full amount in payments stretched over 30 years, or the cash option of 88 million dollars _ which would amount to nearly 60 million dollars after tax withholding.
The ticket holder has one year from the date of Saturday night's drawing to claim the prize.
This is Minnesota's 20th Powerball jackpot winner since Powerball began in 1992, and first jackpot winner since November 2006.
The winning numbers were 2-28-36-42-46, and Powerball 40.

When 2nd Lt. James Cathey's body arrived at the Reno Airport , Marines climbed into the cargo hold of the plane and draped the flag over his casket as passengers watched the family gather on the tarmac.
During the arrival of another Marine's casket last year at Denver International Airport , Major Steve Beck described the scene as so powerful: 'See the people in the windows? They sat right there in the plane, watching those Marines. You gotta wonder what's going through their minds, knowing that they're on the plane that brought him home,' he said 'They will remember being on that plane for the rest of their lives. They're going to remember bringing that Marine home. And they should.'

WIMBLEDON, England (AP) -- This time, big sister put little sister in her place.
Advantage, Miss Venus Williams.
She defeated Serena 7-5, 6-4 Saturday for her fifth Wimbledon title and second in a row. Venus avenged two previous losses to her younger sibling in the final at the All England Club and reasserted her dominance on her favorite court and favorite grass surface.
"I can't believe that it's five," said Venus, who now also has seven Grand Slam championships. "But when you're in the final against Serena Williams, five seems too far away."
Venus came from 3-1 down in the first set to turn around the match, breaking Serena four times while dropping serve twice in a final that produced breathtaking tennis despite swirling wind.
